Stories Can Do It is an interactive, immersive photo booth and educational exhibit. It is a real life interpretation of the popular Facebook app, where users can activate “Stickers”, sounds and lighting effects as they pass through the space. As a permanent installation at Facebook’s Partner Center, each interactive element also displays informational content specific to each Sticker, enabling the exhibit to be not only entertaining but also a promotional tool. The original concept was brought to Facebook by Ellen Porteus and Giulia McGauran, and brought to life by the team at One Hat One Hand.

The SF MoMA presented the captivating, digital collage installation by the French artist, JR. The team at One Hat One Hand, together with the design staff from the museum, created custom, electronics-integrated furniture in support of the exhibit. Visitors were able to interact with the display through touch screens and listen to sound effects through speakers integrated into the millwork.

in Spring 2020, Curative Inc. a local biotech startup, looked to develop a mobile Covid testing solution, deployable to communities around the country ASAP. Human-centered urban design firm, Gehl, came to the OHOH team with the goal of designing and implementing a portable testing unit that satisfied the projects unique and complex parameters. Within a few months, the collaborating teams delivered 30+ fully functional units into the field across the country, and handed off the design solutions for large scale manufacture.

Google Cloud and the creative team at Sparks developed an interactive experience that demonstrated how a machine learning model can be trained and deployed, using the metaphor of making music. A physical exhibit was then designed and fabricated to allow the public to interface with the technology, and presented at the Google Next conference.

As part of its More Together campaign, Facebook wanted to have an immersive and fun photo backdrop installed in its Manhattan offices. They enlisted the talents of Australian creative duo Ellen Porteus and Giulia McGauran to create a 2D illustration in their signature style. The team at One Hat One Hand then brought the illustration to life and set it in (literal) motion. The installation features numerous moving parts and lighting effects.

Located in San Francisco’s revitalized Mission Bay neighborhood, Stagecoach Greens is an elaborately styled mini-golf course, themed as the city itself in both past and present.

Bellwether Coffee makes a state-of-the-art coffee roasting machine, and needed a new office space for its growing staff, complete with a coffee testing lab and product showroom. The project was a full design package from the ground up, implemented in coordination with a commercial build out.

Natanya Montgomery has created a beautiful and stylish salon in the heard of the Mission District, San Francisco. The designers and fabricators at One Hat One Hand were able to contribute several pieces of custom salon furniture and built in millwork/casework.

Industry leading wedding registry company, Zola, put together a “love note” brand experience for a San Francisco exposition. Design firm Rebel and Rogue brought the concept to One Hat One Hand, and collaborated to create a temporary post office where visitors could write and letters to anyone they wanted, complete with professional calligraphers and mail boxes to send the love.

826 Valencia is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting under-resourced students with their writing skills. Each SF writing lab features a whimsical, uniquely themed retail store. Selected local SF artists and craftspeople contributed the pieces and installations that make up the branded environment.

The Outside Lands music festival in San Francisco features several smaller “lands”, of different themes, where businesses can showcase their products. Grasslands, features marijuana related products and services. True Terpenes, with Ironbloom event production, concepted an interactive exhibit where festival goers can sample and learn about their different aromatics. OHOH devised a device, within a display setting, that vaporizes the various extracts and users can dispense individual samples to smell, and compare.
